The New Nickel

The other day I caught a glimpse of the new nickels that have Jefferson looking straight at you on the front. It made me realize why it was such a good idea to have the presidents facing to the side on our coinage. That’s just kind of freaky having him look back at you like that, and it’s not even a very flattering picture of him. Someone needs to politely tell the US mint to stick to doing what they do best - stamping coins with the presidents’ faces all looking to the side.

I don’t understand why they moved from last year’s design. There was nothing wrong with it, although this picture online makes it look a little scary, in person it’s got a nice look to it:
